Hiring, for front-desk teams

Interview them before you meet them.

Send a candidate a private link. They play front desk against the same lifelike guests your team trains on, no account needed, about 15 minutes on any phone. You get every candidate scored and every score backed by a quote from what they actually said.

No card to try it. Your first assessment is free. Works in a browser on any phone.

What this is

A first-round screen, done by the candidate, read by you.

A resume tells you where someone worked. A ten-minute conversation tells you how they handle an angry guest at 11pm. Lobbyee gives you the ten-minute conversation, repeatable, at any hour, without you having to be in the room.

01

No account for the candidate.

You send a private link. They enter their name and email, read the notice, and start. No sign-up, no password, no app to download.

02

1 to 3 short conversations.

You pick up to three guest situations as the test. Each runs about five minutes. The candidate replies as if they were at the desk.

03

Every score has a quote behind it.

Five competencies, each 1 to 5, each with the verbatim lines from the transcript that produced the score. No mystery grades.

How it works

Four steps. About fifteen minutes end to end.

Step 1

Pick up to three guest conversations.

Choose from the library of hospitality scenarios, or draft a custom one from a single line about your property.

Step 2

Send each candidate their link.

One private URL per candidate. Nothing to install, nothing to sign up for. They can take it on a phone in the break room.

Step 3

They converse with a lifelike guest.

Each conversation has a hidden need under the surface complaint. Warmth de-escalates. Brushing off, or promising something the property cannot deliver, does not.

Step 4

You read the transcript and decide.

A ranked list, five scores per candidate, evidence quotes for each. Advance, hold or pass. One click. The decision is always yours.

What we score

Five things a good front-desk hire actually needs.

We score empathy, clarity, problem solving, professionalism, and honesty about what a candidate promises. Each is rated 1 to 5 and each rating is backed by a verbatim quote from the transcript, so you can see the exact moment that earned it.

We do not score accent, grammar, or typing speed. If a score does not match your read of the transcript, trust the transcript. The AI is decision support; you are the decider.

  • Empathy. Did they meet the guest where they were before they moved to fix the problem?
  • Clarity. Were they easy to follow, or did the guest have to ask again?
  • Problem solving. Did they move the situation forward, not just apologise?
  • Professionalism. Did they stay composed when the guest did not?
  • Honesty. Did they promise only what the property can actually deliver?
What this is not

Lobbyee cannot reject a candidate. You make every call.

We are careful about how this product is described because AI-assisted hiring is a place where honest limits matter more than a pitch.

  • The AI does not make the decision. It scores and quotes. You read the transcript and decide who moves forward. There is no auto-reject anywhere in the product.
  • The rubric is a rubric, not a certification. It has not been externally validated as job-related. Treat it as a structured second opinion, not a stamp of approval on a candidate.
  • Speech-to-text is uneven across accents. Because of that, the typed conversation is the default. If you turn on the spoken version, offer the typed version to any candidate who asks for it.
  • Some places are switched off entirely. New York City, the United Kingdom, the European Union and the European Economic Area, and Quebec cannot receive candidate invites today. We would rather turn it off than ship it with a caveat you might miss.
  • You have federal duties either way. A scored exercise is a selection procedure. If it screens out one group more than another, that is on you as the employer regardless of intent, and you should offer a reasonable alternative to any candidate who cannot take the typed exercise.

Candidate data

Kept only as long as it needs to be.

Candidate transcripts and scores are visible only to your workspace. We do not sell them, share them with anyone else, or use them to train our own models.

Twelve months after an assessment closes, a scheduled job deletes the invite, the transcript, the scores, the evidence quotes and the comments. If a candidate asks us to delete sooner, we do.
